Do you need a financial adviser for pension drawdown?

Drawdown keeps pension money invested while you take income, so the decision is not only how much to withdraw but how the remaining money should support retirement.

What makes drawdown different?

Flexi-access drawdown allows pension money to remain invested while withdrawals are taken. Because the remaining fund can rise or fall, future retirement income is not guaranteed.

When might advice add value?

Advice can be useful where withdrawal levels, investment risk, tax, several pensions or household income sources need to be coordinated. A regulated adviser can recommend a suitable approach based on the wider circumstances.

Free guidance is also available

Pension Wise provides free and impartial guidance about defined contribution pension options. Guidance can help explain the choices, while regulated advice makes a personalised recommendation.
